43rd Annual Lakewood Home Festival Auction Party Theme Unveiled:
Keep Calm and Lakewood On
DALLAS – July 4, 2019 – London is coming to Lakewood! This year’s auction party theme was unveiled today at Lakewood’s Fourth of July parade as an iconic, bright red, double-decker bus cruised down Lakewood Boulevard.
The “Keep Calm and Lakewood On” Auction Party, sponsored by Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, kicks off the 43rd Annual Lakewood Home Festival. The Festival is hosted by the Lakewood Early Childhood Parent Teacher Association (LECPTA) and has raised funds since 1976 for three East Dallas public schools: Lakewood Elementary School, J.L. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School. 2018 was a record-breaking year, and proceeds directly benefit the students through the purchase of essential school materials, computers and enrichment programs.
This year’s auction party will open its doors on Friday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. at the Omni Hotel. It will feature both a live and silent auction as well as a multi-course seated dinner. The live auction will be sure to excite participants, with items and experiences to bid on such as a one week stay at a Telluride home, donated by Ruth Fitzgibbons.
Set on the rails of the London Underground, guests will get to see the sights – the London Eye, Big Ben, London Bridge and even the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace – without ever leaving Dallas! An 11 piece band, Professor D – a Jordan Kahn Music Company Band – will provide smashing music for partygoers.
Ladies & Gents are invited to delve into their British best, ranging from timeless musicians such as the Spice Girls, Elton John, or the British Invasion of the 1960s. Dress for Wimbledon or Polo! Don a fascinator Kate Middleton will envy! Auction Party Premiere party tickets will be $250 and will include perks like VIP bar access and reserved seating with front row access to the live auction and band, to name a few. General admission tickets will be $150. Both party tickets include an “all weekend pass” with access to the Home Tour and Candlelight evening. An exciting new option this year offers a stay at the Omni in a deluxe guestroom, available under the LECPTA Room Block for $189.00/night.
The auction party will be followed by the Lakewood Home Tour on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10 from 11:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Regular Home Tour tickets are $20 and will be available for purchase in September from Comerica Bank, Talulah & Hess, and Snowbaby, as well as online at www.lakewoodhomefestival.com. The Candlelight tour, sponsored by Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, will take place on Saturday evening and offers an intimate setting where guests can sip wine and meet the homeowners. Regular Candlelight is from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 and include access to the daytime home tour. Home tour tickets can be upgraded to regular Candlelight tickets at the door for $10. VIP Candlelight tickets are $75 and also include a bus tour, sponsored by Brinson Auto Group, and a reception at 5:00 p.m., sponsored by Comerica Bank.
All tour tickets give access to view 6 beautiful homes in the Lakewood area. A sure to be crowd pleaser will be the original Hutsell residence at 7035 Lakewood Boulevard. Clifford J. Hutsell is known for his Spanish eclectic design style, featuring distinct chimneys, glazed tiles and elaborate metal work. Hutsell was a self-taught architect and built about 50 homes in the Lakewood area between 1926 and 1941, and furthered development of the White Rock Lake shores.
